Exit: The Game — The Secret Lab “As the subjects of a medical study, the players have checked into a lab, but while they're on time at the site, no one else seems to be there — then they realize that something seems wrong here. Steam has started emerging from one of the test tubes, and they've all gotten dizzy to the point of passing out. When they awaken, they discover that the door is locked and no other way out seems possible. Only a notebook and an enigmatic spinning code dial seem to offer any clues for how to escape the lab…” Escape Room: The Game   “Take the viral social experience of Escape Rooms to the comfort of your own home and for a fraction of the cost that you would pay! Included in this game are 4 unique 60-minute escape room puzzles that will test your cranial skills. Use images, gears, words, keys, shapes, maps and more to solve the three stages within each escape room.” And last but not least... Escape The Room: Mystery at the Stargazer’s Manor “Escape the Room games began as digital adventures and quickly turned into real-life events all around the world where players are locked in a room and must uncover clues and hidden objects to escape. ThinkFun’s version of Escape the Room allows you to bring all the excitement of these experiences into your very own home! “The Mystery: It’s 1869 and the town’s well-respected astronomer has not been seen since the untimely passing of his wife. Recently, strange things have been happening at his manor – loud and unfamiliar noises, an unpleasant smell, and smoke billowing from the observatory. Movies You Might Have Missed-image

2017 had its share of great movies. That’s why in today’s post, we’re sharing a few movies that — while you probably have heard of them — you might not have watched. Take some time this month to watch a variety of movies inside your apartment at Arrive North Shore in Highwood, IL. Same Kind of Different as Me “International art dealer Ron Hall must befriend a dangerous homeless man in order to save his struggling marriage to his wife, a woman whose dreams will lead all three of them on the journey of their lives.” Marshall “Young Thurgood Marshall faces one of his greatest challenges while working as a lawyer for the NAACP. Marshall travels to conservative Connecticut when wealthy socialite Eleanor Strubing accuses black chauffeur Joseph Spell of sexual assault and attempted murder. He soon teams up with Sam Friedman, a local Jewish lawyer who's never handled a criminal case. Together, the two men build a defense while contending with racist and anti-Semitic views from those who deem Spell to be guilty.” The Foreigner “Quan is a humble London businessman whose long-buried past erupts in a revenge-fueled vendetta when the only person left for him to love -- his teenage daughter -- dies in a senseless act of politically motivated terrorism. His relentless search to find the terrorists leads to a cat-and-mouse conflict with a British government official whose own past may hold the clues to the identities of the elusive killers.” Only the Brave “Through hope, determination, sacrifice, and the drive to protect families and communities, the Granite Mountain Hotshots become one of the most elite firefighting teams in the country. While most people run from danger, they run toward it—watching over lives, homes and everything people hold dear, forging a unique brotherhood that comes into focus with one fateful fire in Yarnell, Ariz.” If you haven't already seen Only the Brave, we think you'll love it. What will you be watching this month? Share your favorite movies in the comments below. Thanks for reading!

Easy-to-Learn Board Games-image

As a welcome from our apartment community to yours, Arrive North Shore of Highwood, IL would like kickoff 2018 with a list of our favorite board games. Game nights are a fun and easy way to break the ice, be it with new neighbors, friends, or distant relatives. Whatever your reasons are for celebrating game night in Highwood, make it a night to remember with a few of our favorite board games. Today, we’re sharing a few games that take less than a minute to learn. That means less explaining and more playing. Enjoy! We Didn’t Playtest This At All : The goal of this game is simple: Win. Yes, that’s what the rules say. Simply draw a card and then play one from your hand, following the instructions on the card. They might say, “Everyone plays rock, paper, scissors,” or “This is a dragon. Place in front of another player to eat them. That person is dead.” Santorini : “Santorini is a highly accessible pure strategy game that is simple enough for an elementary school classroom. But with enough gameplay depth and content for even hardcore gamers to explore, Santorini is truly a game for everyone.” Timeline: Inventions : “Each card depicts an invention on both sides, with the year in which that invention was created on only one side. Players take turns placing a card from their hand in a row on the table. After placing the card, the player reveals the date on it. If the card was placed correctly with the date in chronological order with all other cards on the table, the card stays in place; otherwise, the card is removed from play and the player takes another card from the deck.” Tsuro : Board games don’t come much simpler than this tile-laying, dragon-themed one. Simply place a tile, and then move your token along the new path that has been created. Your goal is to stay on the board. While it only takes about 15 minutes to play, Tsuro is a great choice for any game night. What are your favorite board games to bring to the table on game night? Share in the comments below.
